Where Do We Come From?
In 1990 Will and Grant Crothers (two Melbourne brothers from a family with generations of dairy experience) started Burra Foods. With a dairy factory in Gippsland south eastern Victoria, Burra Foods manufactures a range of specialty dairy ingredients for export markets.
In 2000 it was suggested that Burra develop a product unique to them in the Australian market – a signature product.
With the best milk, advanced dairy technology and the right resources they wanted a branded retail business supplying a fresh, premium dairy product. Identifying a gap in the market for funky and fresh ice cream or Italian gelato, the idea to create a contemporary, fun brand with surprisingly different products was developed.
The first Trampoline store opened in Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, a diverse food and cafe precinct bordering Melbourne's CBD with an eclectic mix of all things bohemian, trendy, alternative and cool. It was here, in April 2004, that Trampoline was born with a bounce.
Another major milestone for the brand occured in December 2009 with the opening of the first interstate store at Indooroopilly, Queensland and again in early 2010 with the addition of two new stores in Darwin, located at the newly developed Darwin Waterfront Precinct and the ever-popular Knuckey Street.
